Goodie Bag #15 (Halloween Addition)

One of my personal favorite times of the year is Halloween. Pumpkins get carved, houses get TP-ed, kids go around getting candy. However, in the club, girls can get away with dressing up as sluts, and the DJ brings the darkest and scariest music he/she's got. With the possible exception of New Years, Halloween can be the biggest time of the year for dance music (although with New Years there's no dressing up).



So you're the musical maestro for the night, and you have this great gig lined up, but you're wondering what to play in your DJ set. In the past, I've kind of scratched my head on what to play at Halloween to keep in with the whole vibe. Each crowd will be different, and want/expect different things, but here are a number little bleeps to sink your teeth into.

And speaking of zombies, Designer Drugs released a little bleep by that name a while back. Hot Pink Delorean remixed it and gave it away a while ago, so I can share that one with you all.

I got a great bleep from Barnery vs The Dinosaur the other day. It was by Figure, who does a very halloween themed Electro/House bleep. Awesome!

No Halloween would be complete without talking about Justice. They had a little bleep, off of their album Cross, that electrofies 'Night On Bald Mountain' by one of the darkest classical music composers of all time, Mussorgski. Look for a HOT Nero remix in the coming months.

Le Castle Vania did a stunning rendition of 'Zero Machine' from the Smashing Pumpkins. This one will definitely ignite any dancefloor.

Laidback Luke came out with a fantastic bootleg remix of 'Thriller' not too long ago. This little bleep usually goes over well regardless of what time of year it is, but since it's Halloween, I imagine it will be particularly special.
