Bootlegs & Originals

More updates, more power. This time we've got some new stuff from BetaTraXx, who is churning out some really amazing material. There's a couple of bootleg remixes of Deadmau5, and David Guetta to whet your stomaches here. The Some Chords remix is probably the best I've heard thus far.

Another Revamp

Elite Force continues to astound me with his production quality. This time he revamps Tombstone from the Midnight Juggernauts. It's a huge Electro/Breakbeat little bleep with vocal chops thrown in for good measure. Get your free 320 right now!

Sub Antix Drops Some Stunners

I was cruising blog world a little while ago when I stumbled across an artist that goes by Sub Antix. I decided, since I'm always looking for new music, like you freaks, that I'd give it a shot and download the EP that they decided to give away. Lo and behold, it was a stunner. This Vancouver native decided to drop some serious tunage here, and I'm lovin' it. Big ups to the Rub-A-Dub-Dubbb blog for posting it first.

And You Thought They Were Dead

I apologize about the lack of posts lately, I've been hitting the studio hard with my main man Micah, and we've making original tracks and such. They will be here soon for you all. A Reggae/Dubstep blend that we hope is fresh enough to attract enough attention to get us a record deal, or a least some sort of tour.

Also, there is no new radio show this week due to the USA playing Ghana in tournament play in the World Cup. Watching that was more important than broadcasting, sorry guys. Saturday will make up for it I promise.

As for the dead ones, they certainly were silent for a while. Soulwax, and MSTRKRFT were two of the most prolific and in demand producing/performing groups from '06-'08, but in 2009 they disappeared off the map almost entirely. Now I can tell you that they are back with a vengeance. You'd think MSTRKRFT would come back with a huge banger, but they've actually done a Katy Perry remix...I guess something is better than nothing.

Katy Perry - California Gurls feat. Snoop Dogg (MSTRKRFT Remix) YSI

Then, Soulwax is back to show us what Electro is all about with a HOT remix of LCD Soundsystem, and a crazy Paul Harris remix (sorry about the shitty quality).

Sharkslayer

The Top Billin crew keeps killin' it. Seriously, these guys pump out new bleeps like your momma pumped out...*cough*. Anyway, the latest addition of bleeps from Top Billin puts Sharkslayer at the top. These guys have some unique sounding shit.

First up, we've got an original that sounds like house, and reads like house but feels like it's something different. They sample heavily from the Bill Withers bleep of the same name.

Sharkslayer - Who Is He (Original Mix) <3 YSI

Next up we have the Sharkslayer VIP remix of Predator from French Fries. This one brings it back to the tribal house sound that resonates deep in your being. It also adds a flavor of new skool, with it's well put together build ups and breakdowns, and solid sounding percussion.

Interview: The Bulgarian

Hey bleepfans, I've got an exclusive update here for you all. I caught up with The Bulgarian (whose Noisia - Alpha Centuri refix I did a post on, and you can view that post here) and he answered some questions. Check it out.

------------------------

How would you describe your sound? What kind of music gets your heartrate up and makes you excited?

Hmm. That's a tough one, I've always had a broad interest in music. Basically, anything new and fresh and innovative will always interest me. The worst thing for me is hearing people doing and copying the same shit over and over again. I guess I apply that to my music as well. I try to never copy myself, keep it fresh, and also, I make dance music. That means making music that makes people wanna dance, simple as that. A lot of DJs and producers seem to often forget that that's what this is all really about.

The Bulgarian...how'd you come up with the name?

Well, I was born in Bulgaria and currently live there again, but when I came up with the name I was still in South Africa and I was looking for something original and something that defined who I was and it seemed a good fit.

Since were going back to your beginnings, how did it all start for you? When did you get your big break?

Haha, I wouldn't say I've had a big break yet! It's all been slow progress with lots of hard work, and I'm aiming for much bigger things! I've have been cooking up beats since I was still in school back in 1997 but back then I was very technically limited compared to the software and hardware available today. I went through lots of different styles, Industrial, IDM, Big Beat, Drum n Bass and eventually found House and Techno, the so called "Four Four" music and that's when I got my first little break as The Bulgarian and started releasing properly, this was just 3 years ago.

Get exclusive downloads, and read the rest of the interview, after the jump!

It seems like there's kind of a plateau that new producers reach. They get on the blogs, get DJ gigs, get noticed by an agent and a manager and then they get launched worldwide. What comes after that?

I don't know! I've just only started with a new manager and things are looking exciting! We'll have to see. For me, it's always been about the next level. I'm happy not to stop trying until I get too old to do it anymore! World domination man, isn't that every artist's ultimate secret dream goal? ;)

What's the best show you ever played?

That's a tough one too. It feels unfair to pick just one as there have been many memorable ones but one of the stand outs is definitely my first time Paris. I played at the Social Club and it's meant to have a 450 person capacity and we had about 950 people through the door! It was epic! Also, Gaspar from Justice and So Me from Ed Banger showed up just randomly as regular club goers, that was fun, I could go tell my friends that Justice came to see me play! Hahaha.

What do you do to stay healthy/sane on the road?

I've never been out for longer than a full weekend at a time except when I go on tour back in South Africa for several weeks at a time and there I'm with friends and family so its easy. I also try to never get wasted before a gig. I'm definitely one of those DJs that DOESN'T play better drunk! Haha. That and trying to find flights that are at reasonable times of the day. Nothing worse than ending a gig at 5am and having to catch a flight at 8am 3hrs later. I like my 8hrs (at least 6 of them minimum).

Any other artists we should keep our eyes on?

Anyone keeping it fresh and real! Haha. There's so much good stuff buried in the swathes of mediocrity out there. I'd recommend finding out for yourself. People are relying too much on Top 10s and Charts and featured releases to tell them what to listen to. Have a look at someone's sound cloud page that you like and just spend some time clicking on random people they follow! You'll be surprised what you find!

What do you see for yourself in the [near] future?

Hmm. More gigs and bigger and better releases/remixes for now? ;) We'll have to see where the road goes!

Dem Slackers + Fake ID - Working Title

Dem Slackers found his love for producing about five years ago and decided to spend more time making music in 2008. Since then he has signed two EPs, and made official remixes for Lil’ Wayne, Foamo and Mightyfools. All at the 'tender' age of 18! Today, we have one huge piece of material here on our hands from him and Fake ID. I was happy this little bleep found it's way into my inbox (courtesy of BMKLTSCH-RCRDS) and it hits right on the money.

Note: If you want the 320, you'll have to buy it like every other good Samaritan.

Goodie Bag #9

Oh man, what an amazing list of little bleeps I've got right here, and I'm going to share them all with you guys right now. First up, Zeds Dead has done it again. The beat drops at 1:00, and when it does, damn that shit is HOT! Seriously, they use something like 6+ different basses, some of them wobbling some of them not, and the countless vocal samples they use from various Popular bleeps from the last decade makes this one for the record books!

Zeds Dead - Here Comes The Boom (Original Mix)
[AWESOME!!!] YSI

Next up comes Ikki's latest remix. Dropping in fine fashion he does a remake of Pope Of Dope, and believe you me, it's totally dope!

Party Harders, The Subs - Pope Of Dope (Ikki Remix)
<3 YSI

Virtual Boy also just released a brand new little bleep to the public after an absence of about a year. If Bassnectar made ethereal Dubstep music these days, this would be it.

Virtual Boy - Runaway (Original Mix) YSI

For a long time I haven't heard anything new of note from Chew Fu. He did a stunning remix a while back of Bad Romance from Lady Gaga, but since then it's seemed like all of the wind went out of his sails, and he just didn't go anywhere special with his remixes. Now, that has all changed with his newest remix.

Timbaland - If We Ever Meet Again feat. Katy Perry (Chew Fu Club Mix) [NICE!!!] YSI

Then St. Beethoven has another banging ass remix, this time of Kavinsky. These guys have been hitting the spot lately (especially with their Harder Better Faster Stronger remix they did, which you can find here), so make sure to give it a listen.

Kavinsky - Nightcall (St. Beethoven Remix) <3 YSI

Then lastly we have a Break-beat refix of Sweet Little Bleeps favorite Wolfgang Gartner, and another one of Bob Sinclar. Check it out.

Filler

Got a couple of little bleeps here to tide you over until my next Goodie Bag. They are both Dubstep remixes, and they are awesome. First up probably the best and maybe only decent Dub remix of Booka Shade. Well produced and a great remix from idea to conception. Make sure to follow Omega on his soundcloud page.

Booka Shade - Regenerate (Omega Remix) [NICE!!!] YSI

Then there's a fantastic edit of Sierra Leone that's worth checking out. C-nergy was ballsy enough to post this on the Kaskade - Dynasty remix page. Kind of weird, as far as marketing yourself goes, but I found him and am sharing his bleep with you, so he must of done something right.

"Spin Me 'Round Again"

Lots of exciting things coming your way here at Sweet Little Bleeps. Coming soon we've got an interview with The Bulgarian (who's refix of Alpha Centuri you'll find two posts below). But right now I've got two fantastic and very different remixes of Hide & Seek from Imogen Heap. Tommie Sunshine's remix is old school acid with a bit of a progressive spin, while Key&kite does a disjointed Electro rendition.

An autoMatic for autoKratz

autoKratz returns with a couple of massive, brand new remixes of their hit single, Kick. First up from The Japanese Popstars (who are one of my long time favorites). Disco meets Electro in this exquisite rendition of production talent.

autoKratz - Kick (The Japanese Popstars Remix) <3 YSI

Then there's a remix from a new Japanese techno producer, Kezokichi. This guy stands out on the harder side of Techno, going more towards the Acid and Electro sound then the minimal side that most people are used to.

Noisia - Alpha Centuri (The Bulgarian's Re-Edit)

Hey guys,

A new face has come to my attention. Actually I should call him an old face, as he's been around since the '90s making music. He goes by The Bulgarian, and he is one of those unique talents who incorporates different styles of music into his productions. Take his newest re-edit of one of Noisia's latest bangers, 'Alpha Centuri.'

It incorporates elements of tech and funk while still maintaining it's smashing, electro feel. Definitely one for the clubs.

Freestylers Remixed

Aston Harvey and Matt Cantor were both making different styles of music when they first met in London in the mid-90s. Uber-engineer Aston had been half of pioneering, breakbeat, hardcore act Blapps Posse, getting busy with cuts like 'Buss' It' and 'Don't Hold Back' before going on to work with Definition Of Sound's, Rebel MC (who's so old I couldn't find a website for him) and DJ Rap. Matt Cantor, meanwhile, was recording with Andy Gardner from the Plump DJs as Cut 'N' Paste and Strike for the fledgling Freskanova label.

Discovering a mutual love of hip-hop and electro, Matt and Aston started making bleeps together. The first record they sampled was old skool electro classic 'Don't Stop The Rock' by Freestyle Express, and the resulting bleep 'Drop The Boom' on Scratch City Records launched them as The Freestylers; a non-genre-specific name, with hip-hop connotations, which fit them like a glove.

Just recently, two remixes from Pete Jordan and Kouncil House, have emerged as exquisite renditions of dance music, that pays tribute to house, breaks, R&B and Hip-hop. I have been asked to share these with all you peeps (thanks Melissa).

Mt Eden Dubstep

Been travelin' the internetz and having to delve into uncharted territory to find some of the little bleeps that Mt Eden Dubstep have put out there.

Being a mysterious producer, not a lot is known about him (or them). I do know he is from either Australia, or New Zealand, and he has taken a unique spin on what Dubstep is all about, spawning countless copycats.

Mt Eden Dubstep goes into the melodic sort of happier version of Dub. Instead of huge wobble basses and pounding kicks and snares, we get a deeper, groovy feel to each of his melodies which leaves most people wanting more each time. His remixes are fantastic when you're in your car, and also work if you play them earlier in the night in clubs and at parties. I don't have all the stuff he's put out, but I have some, and I'm going to share it with you guys now.

Running Man

Some serious stuff comin' out of the studio with DJ Madd. One of the deeper Dubstep bleeps I've heard in a long time is 'Running Man,' check it out.

Can't post a download to this one, but I highly recommend you guys shell out a little cash, and buy it at Beatport. Worth every penny.

Lots Of Bass!!!

Oh man, there is some serious shit coming out from several of my favorite Dubstep artists these days. Here we go.

One of them, Enigma, just got signed officially on Visualize Recordings (they all grow up so fast *sniff*), and we'll start off with his remix of Sigur Ros.

Sigur Ros - Sæglopur (Enigma Remix) [AWESOME!!!] YSI

We also have an update from Bassnectar. He has this to say of his newest remix.

"I wanted to flash-release a little summer time jam, and decided on a brand new loopy remix I did of an awesome band called Sleigh Bells ...it isn't meant to be a banger or anything more than a nice, thick slice of dreamy sunshine (and bass). Enjoy!"

Stay tuned for the 'Massive Attack Remix' which will launch from his site in a week or two.

Sleigh Bells - Run The Heart (Bassnectar Remix)
<3 YSI

And we have one HELL of a remix from Zeds Dead. They've been absent from blogger land for a while now, but now they're back and making up for lost time. This time they went with a Dubstep remix of The Rolling Stones. When I first heard the drop at 0:54 I wanted to freak out.

Stay tuned folks, more to come!
