I apologize about the lack of posts lately, I've been hitting the studio hard with my main man Micah, and we've making original tracks and such. They will be here soon for you all. A Reggae/Dubstep blend that we hope is fresh enough to attract enough attention to get us a record deal, or a least some sort of tour.
Also, there is no new radio show this week due to the USA playing Ghana in tournament play in the World Cup. Watching that was more important than broadcasting, sorry guys. Saturday will make up for it I promise.
As for the dead ones, they certainly were silent for a while. Soulwax, and MSTRKRFT were two of the most prolific and in demand producing/performing groups from '06-'08, but in 2009 they disappeared off the map almost entirely. Now I can tell you that they are back with a vengeance. You'd think MSTRKRFT would come back with a huge banger, but they've actually done a Katy Perry remix...I guess something is better than nothing.
Happy Easter everybody! Got more of a basket here than a bag :P. Here we go.
First up we have the best D&B remix of Fake Blood out there from Terravita. Just take Mars, raise the tempo by about 50 bpms, and throw in the crazy D&B drums, and wah-lah, you have a recipe for a fantastic remix.
Then there's a bleep that I heard at Ultra Music Fest no fewer than 3 times from the Bassbin Twins, Rusko, and Steve Aoki. This was blowing up on the blogs a while back, but in case you've missed it, pick up a copy now. It's a Lion King remix. Douster - King Of Africa (Original Mix) [Best Intro bleep I've heard in a while!]
And speaking of Steve Aoki, Daniel Dexter did a fantastic edit of his remix of Gifted from N.A.S.A. It sounds like Crookers took ecstasy and laid down a beat.
Alright guys, I finally have all the backlogs of previous posts taken care of. They are all up and ready to be read. Enjoy.
I've decided to do a special every week or two called Goodie Bag, of all the best new bleeps that I've found on the internet. So here it goes. I've come across several excellent little bleeps that I want to share with you all today.
We'll get started with an interesting bootleg from Redial of Miike Snow's forthcoming release, 'Silvia.' Definitely a different take than all the other official remixes.
Yeeees. Been a few days since since my last post. Lots of things happening, I have a lot gigs these days, which doesn't leave me much time to post. But here's an update for you guys.
Something that just came to my attention, that I think you guys will really like comes from an electro artist called Dada Life. These guys have been around for a few years now, putting out their unique electro blend of fidget combined with nu disco. They have released a series of bootlegs, which they call 'Guerilla Farts.' Some of them are quite good. Check them out. These bleeps are all unreleased. M.I.A. - XR2 (Dada Life Guerilla Fart #1)
